A bit about us….

We opened our Tearoom in February 2006, after taking a huge risk of giving up our jobs, selling our house & moving our two young children & our dog 170 miles across the border to Coldstream.  It has been extremely hard work & there have been tears, tantrums & tough times but… there has also been lots of laughter, lots of new friends, lots of praise & most importantly of all waking up every day & wanting to go to work!

Our Tearoom…

Through the day Deakins Tearoom is an informal place to meet friends & chat over a cup of tea or to enjoy a light lunch with work colleagues in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. We have built up a good local trade, as well as being welcoming to people from out of the town - many returning to try us again

Everything we do is made on the premises & if it says home made - it really is, something which we are very proud of. Our meat comes from G.J. Sanderson - the butcher across the road,. We use the local bakers - Trotters for our bread, Our milk is delivered by the local milkman - Darren Bruce & we use the same supplier as the Fruit & Veg shop on the corner!

What we can do for you…

In the evening it can be transformed into the perfect setting for a pre-wedding get together with your family & friends.  We can offer menus to cater for every taste from traditional Scottish Fayre to your favourite home cooked meal.  We will work closely with you to ensure your needs are meet to the letter & should you have any concerns we will only be a phone call or email away! We can seat up to 28 guests (a few more with some jiggling) & can suggest menus to cover a range of budgets.
